Michael Jackson was posthumously awarded by American Music Awards at the ceremony held on Nov. 22, 2009 in LA.

His elder brother Jermaine Jackson accepted the award for best pop/rock and soul/R&B male artist on behalf of his late brother, Associated Press reports.

His 2003 greatest-hits album, “Number Ones,” also won favorite album in both categories, bringing his career AMA total to 23, making him the most honored artist in AMA history.
