President Donald Trump addressed the US nation Wednesday with an address that lasted about 20 minutes. He devoted most of the speech to self-praise and criticism of the former Democratic administration and ex-President Joe Biden personally. But foreign policy issues, including the war in Ukraine and the situation in Venezuela, were not mentioned.

Trump claimed that he inherited chaos and managed to fix it in a short time. He asserted that under the Democrats the US borders were practically open, migrants, including criminals, had flooded into the country, and that American policy served terrorists and other countries that benefited from the US on an unprecedented scale. The world was laughing at the US, but it is no longer laughing, the president added.

Speaking about immigration, Trump claimed that in recent months not a single illegal immigrant has entered the US. Also, he recalled that Joe Biden had insisted on the need for a separate law to close the border. But it turned out that they needed a new president, Trump said.

The US president paid special attention to security issues, noting that Washington is now safer than ever and that his administration has struck blows against drug dealers. Also, he emphasized that the US has the most powerful armed forces in the world and took credit for resolving eight wars, achieving peace in the Middle East for the first time in 3,000 years, and helping secure the release of Israeli hostages.

In the economic part of his address to the US nation, Trump said that when he took office, inflation in the country was the highest in 48 years, but now prices are falling, wages are rising, and new jobs are being created. He especially praised his tariff policy, calling it his favorite word. He said that thanks to tariffs, money is returning to the US in record amounts.

Concluding his address, Trump declared that the US today is respected, the country is being reborn stronger than ever, and is on the verge of an economic boom. Also, he mentioned the upcoming FIFA World Cup, the Olympic Games, and preparations for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

“When the world looks at us next year, let them see a nation that is loyal to its citizens, faithful to its workers, confident to its identity, certain to its destiny and the envy of the entire globe,” the US president concluded.
