YEREVAN. – There will be many women in the ruling coalition’s Prosperous Armenia Party’s (PAP) proportional list for the upcoming parliamentary elections, PAP MP Vahe Enfiajyan stated during a press conference on Thursday.   

And reflecting on the International Women’s Day, and to the women’s role in general, Enfiajyan noted that he relaxes among his family, rejoices with his children, and does not have an opportunity or a wish to discuss political matters at home.   

The press conference’s other speaker, coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia MP Hovhannes Sahakyan, noted that material gifts are not at all necessary to turn the day into a holiday. A delicious dish can be prepared, and this could be the gift. And concerning the Armenian women’s image, in the MP’s words, the Armenian woman is a loved mother, an intelligent woman, and a woman who stands by her man. “A woman who sits at home, cooks dinner, and takes care of children does not summarize for us the Armenian woman’s image,” he said.
