The condition of two servicemen injured in a fire in Azat village, Gegharkunik province, remains serious, but there are positive dynamics, Karine Babayan, deputy director of the National Burns Center, told NEWS.am.

"We may decide to transfer them to the department by the end of the week. The military serviceman who is in the hospital ward has also shown positive dynamics," Babayan said.

On January 19 at around 01:30 a.m. a fire broke out in the shelter of engineer-sapper company of the Nth military unit of Armenian Defense Ministry, located in the village Azat of Gegharkunik province. According to preliminary data 15 servicemen died as a result of the fire. Seven servicemen were taken to Vardenis hospital, four of them were discharged after being treated. Three servicemen with serious injuries were taken to Yerevan - National Burn Center. A criminal case has been instituted over the incident, and the commander of the Second Army Corps and other officials have been dismissed.
