The killer of more than 30 hedgehogs has been sentenced to two years and 10 months in prison in Germany, the Bild newspaper reported.

According to it, David L. "tortured to death" at least 32 hedgehogs and four rabbits. The Friedberg court sentenced him back in July last year, but the man appealed the decision. Now the court in Giessen has upheld the verdict.

According to the newspaper, the animal carcasses were put into plastic bags and deliberately left in crowded places. DNA traces of the criminal, who already had several previous convictions, were found.
