KIEV. – In the case of the working geopolitical realities, Azerbaijan’s anti-Armenian rhetoric at the UN Security Council and its usage of this platform to voice its position in the Nagorno-Karabakh issue will have a low efficiency level, Ukrainian political analyst Oleg Smirnov told Analitika.at.ua.           

“Commenting on Ilham Aliyev’s address at the UN Security Council, we may note the Azerbaijani President’s right to use all types of platforms to express his position on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. Furthermore, I am confident that anti-Armenian rhetoric will be the motif of Azerbaijan’s UN Security Council Chairmanship, but we must note that, in the case of the working geopolitical realities, official Baku’s such actions at the UN Security Council will have a low efficiency level, because the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairing countries do not wish to change the existing status quo and destabilize the situation in an already troubled region,” Oleg Smirnov stated.
