YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Emergency Situations Ministry’s Crisis Management Center received many calls Monday with respect to the fires that broke out at grass-covered areas in different parts of the country. 

Specifically, a 1,000 square meter grass-covered area was in flames at a capital city Yerevan street; 1,000 square meters of grass was burning in Gavar city of Gegharkunik Region; a 1,000 square meter grass-covered area was in flames and thirteen trees were affected nearby an intersection in Abovyan city of Kotayk Region; a 2,000 square meter grass-covered area was burning in Ashtarak city of Aragatsotn Region; a 2.5 hectare grass-covered area was in flames in Garni village of Kotayk Region; a 2 hectare plant-covered area was burning in Syunik village of Syunik Region; and a 21 hectare plant-covered area was in flames on the Ijevan-Noyemberyan Highway of Tavush Region, the Ministry’s press service informs.
