YEREVAN. – The opposition bloc Armenian National Congress, the opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party, and the Prosperous Armenia Party have sustained an average-degree political injury. Presidential candidate, National Accord party Chairman Aram Harutyunyan stated this during a pres conference on Wednesday.

He noted that he is playing the role of the arbitrator and, as a political prosecutor, he demands that a case is definitely opened in this respect.      

Harutyunyan reiterated that his running for president in the forthcoming election has a special mission: To speak on behalf of the oppressed forces because, as a result, close to half of the country’s population does not have its own candidate.  

To Armenian News-NEWS.am’s request to comment on the rumors that he is carrying out orders and taking money from some people to run for president every five years, Harutyunyan responded that he is carrying out the orders of the citizens of Armenia and he wants for those citizens to have a presidential candidate.     

And with respect to the whereabouts of the AMD 8-million (approx. $19,805) election collateral that is necessary to run in the vote, he informed that he was always funded by his friends.

“Had I ever been funded by a force, they would have spoken with me in a different tone,” the presidential contender said.       

Also, Aram Harutyunyan stressed that the authorities are panic-stricken at present.  

They will always attempt to discredit because if they are unable to bring a counterargument, they will say, ‘who gave the money?’” he added.
