YEREVAN.- The assassination attempt on Paruyr Hayrikyan ruined the plans of two candidates: incumbent Serzh Sargsyan and Andreas Ghukasyan, Armenian presidential candidate said.

Independent candidate Vardan Sedrakyan said Ghukasyan’s hunger strike seems ridiculous in the context of recent events.

Sedrakyan is confident the attack on Hayrikyan changed the essence of the presidential campaign.

“Serzh Sargsyan cannot claim we are going “Toward a Secure Armenia’. The slogan is not inspiring as far as he cannot even organize а secure vote,” he said.

Presidential candidate said he feels no tension and will never have body guards.
