YEREVAN. – No legal agreement is signed, between Armenia’s Syunik Region and Iran’s East Azerbaijan Province, with respect to leasing Syunik’s grazing lands to Iran, the Territorial Administration Ministry of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
According to the ministry’s respective statement, the publicized documents are the protocol of the results of the meeting between the two delegations; this protocol was named “Agreement,” and the matters that are raised in the documents must receive a final resolution on state level in both countries.
“Since contracts are not yet signed pursuant to Armenia’s Land Code requirements and are not yet registered at the respective state agency, it is inappropriate to speak about leasing—along the lines of the said documents—grazing lands in Syunik Region,” the Territorial Administration Ministry’s statement notes in particular.
