The CIS Foreign Ministers’ Council is to hold a meeting in Moscow, Russia, on March 28. Most of the 20 issues on the agenda deal with the 65th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, Kazakhstan’s OSCE Chairmanship, European Security Treaty, further development of the CIS, corruption control, etc..

As OSCE chairing country Kazakhstan has made proposals concerning the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process. Experts believe Russia is behind them – it is trying to increase its influence on the peace process. In this context, Russia is actually active both within and outside the OSCE Minsk Group.
