The pretrial detention of former MP Andranik Tevanyan, the second number on the opposition Prosperous Armenia Party’s electoral list and the chairman of the opposition Mother Armenia party, has been extended for another three months.
Tevanyan is charged with high treason and espionage.
The opposition figure denies the charges against him and says the criminal prosecution against him is political. His lawyers say the charges are not substantiated by sufficient evidence.
