YEREVAN. - Armenia will be able to import duty free rice also after 2019, Armenian Deputy Minister of Economy, Garegin Melkonyan, said in the parliament Thursday, introducing the draft free trade agreement between Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Vietnam.
Melkonyan reminded that when joining the EAEU, Armenia temporarily retained its national customs duties on a number of goods. Specifically, the duty for the rice (for which Armenia provided 0 percent duty) will continue to apply till 2019. But after the free trade agreement between EAEU and Vietnam enters into force, Armenia will be able to continue to import duty free rice, even if only from Vietnam.
