Armenia has become the first Eastern European country to be accredited in the Adaptation Fund (AF), which finances projects and programs to help developing countries adapt to the negative effects of climate change.
AF paves new ways by expanding the access of Armenia’s vulnerable communities for climate-related financial resources, since Armenia has become the first Eastern European country whose respective national agency has been granted direct access to the resources of this organization.
The “Environmental Project Implementation Unit” State Institution of the Ministry of Nature Protection of Armenia was recently accredited as the 25th AF national body.
This organization is the pioneer of direct access that enables developing countries to have access to climate-related resources, and to develop and implement respective programs that are directly accredited by way of the Adaptation Fund national bodies.
