YEREVAN. – At various meetings with leaders of member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in recent months, Russian Federation (RF) President Vladimir Putin complained about the situation in the gasoline market, according to Past (Fact) newspaper of Armenia.

“[And] they decided to set the same prices in the EAEU countries, as of the months of March-April next year. It was also decided to import gasoline from the RF.

“By the way, Russian gasoline is better quality than the one being sold at us [i.e. in Armenia]. As a result, people [in Armenia] will benefit because, according to our calculations, gasoline [in the country] will become cheaper.

“A large Russian enterprise that produces petroleum products is already taking [respective] steps. Since Russian gasoline is very cheap, the price will be much lower [in Armenia], even when the price of transfer increases,” wrote Past. 

The Eurasian Economic Union comprises Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
