On Thursday evening, the Armenian Apostolic Church will celebrate the Armenian Christmas Eve Candlelight Divine Liturgy.
At the end of the candlelight service, the faithful light candles or lanterns from the church lanterns, and take them to illuminate their homes. This symbolizes the Divine light, blessing of the church, and the light of the Star of Bethlehem that led the Magi to Baby Jesus.
