MOSCOW. - The Russian MFA supports working contacts with the parties to the Karabakh conflict, official Spokeswoman for the Russian MFA, Maria Zakarova, stated Thursday.

According to her, the principled stance of Russia is to regulate the conflict exclusively by peaceful means.  “This is our principled stance, which is also enshrined by documents.”

Responding to the question as to whether the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, including Russia, will react to the statement of Turkish President on the need to unite efforts against “occupation of Azerbaijani territories,” trying to thereby give a religious context to the conflict, which contradicts the Minsk Group position, Zakahrova said that “she has nothing to add.” “You commented on everything yourself. I just said that we are committed to our position on the Karabakh conflict. One should be guided by this when broadcasting our position.”
