Asian Development Bank: There is a large immigration to Armenia and Tajikistan

Asian Development Bank (ADB) will allocate Armenia and Georgia $80 mln credit altogether. The funds are to overcome the global crisis consequences.

The crisis has mostly influenced the economy of Armenia, Georgia, Tajikistan, ADB informed. There is also a large immigration stream to Armenia and Tajikistan due to unemployment rate increase in Russia and Kazakhstan. This resulted in the reduction of private transfers and national income of the countries.

The ADB funds will enable to pay welfares and provide social security to the vulnerable groups of population as well as maintain and create workplaces. The credit funds will be drawn by the end of FY 2010.
