The Association of Lebanese Banks (ALB) announced Friday the closure of all bank offices for three days in protest against attempts to seize them by disgruntled depositors. In a statement circulated on Twitter, the ALB said that nine attacks on banking institutions in Beirut and other cities in the country were carried out in less than 24 hours.

People who broke into banks demanded deposits frozen two and a half years ago due to the financial collapse.

Angry depositors demanding their money back seized at least eight bank branches.
