The U.S. Social Security Service has recognized about seven million Americans aged 120 and older who were listed as alive as deceased over the past three weeks, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) said.

Earlier, DOGE said the U.S. Social Security Service agreed to recognize as deceased about 3.2 million U.S. residents over the age of 120 who were listed in its databases as currently living people.

“For the past two weeks, @SocialSecurity has begun a major cleanup of their records. Approximately 3.2 million number holders, all listed age 120+, have now been marked as deceased. More work still to be done,” the agency said on social media X.
