NATO is asking European member states to increase ground-based air defense capabilities fivefold, Bloomberg news agency quoted sources as saying.
The media outlet quoted sources as saying that the alliance is seeking to “fill a key gap in response to the threat of Russian aggression”.
The issue of the build-up will be discussed at the meeting of defense ministers of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization member states in Brussels on Thursday, the sources said on condition of anonymity.
