For 24 hours the U.S. Administration have been concealing the information about an accident at the Shippingport Atomic Power Station, Pennsylvania which occurred during repair works at one of the energy units. Radiation leak has been registered. Employees were sent home, Vesti TV informs Nov. 23.

However, the authorities say the accident will have no negative effect on nature and health of the locals.

It is not the first time that an accident occurs at the Shippingport APS. The first one occurring of March 28, 1979 became one of the largest calamities in the U.S. atomic history.
