Thailand’s air force has carried out airstrikes on positions of Cambodian servicemen in border areas in response to artillery shelling, the Thai Ministry of Defense reported.

It emphasized that only Cambodian command posts, drone-control facilities, and weapons and ammunition depots were targeted by these airstrikes.

Chakkrit Thammavichai, Spokesperson for the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF), stated that the RTAF is also ready to conduct operations deeper inside Cambodia if intelligence reports the presence of an immediate threat.

Border clashes between Thailand and Cambodia began on Monday. Thailand has accused Cambodia of attacking civilian areas in Buriram Province, and subsequently refused negotiations and decided to conduct military operations.
