Thailand’s Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul announced that at 21:20 local time he will have a phone conversation with US President Donald Trump regarding the situation at the Thailand-Cambodia border, reports The Nation.

They will inform President Trump about the current situation, but all decisions will be made by the Thai government. They support the Thai armed forces and authorize them to carry out operations, the Thai premier said.

Armed clashes at the Thailand-Cambodia border began on December 7. On Monday, the Royal Thai Army reported that Cambodian forces had started shelling Thai positions in the border zone early in the morning. The Royal Thai Air Force responded by attacking Cambodian military infrastructure. Thai ground forces reported that Cambodia had shelled Thai territory on Monday and Tuesday with BM-21 rockets and also used kamikaze drones. Thai forces returned fire, attempting to establish control over key areas and inflict damage on the adversary.
