Heavy rains and landslides killed at least 50 people, including pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. Thousands of Muslims are locked in Jeddah city on the first day of Hajj pilgrimage.

According to local mass media, Muslim holy city Mecca and its outskirts were inundated with water. Torrential rains flooded buildings and highways. The pilgrims’ camp in Mina valley was also hit by floods. The streams of waters collapsed two bridges in Mecca, power outage struck some parts of the city, Reuters reports.

According to local meteorological offices, the weather will not improve in coming days.
