Private jets of Russian entrepreneurs are stuck in Dubai, The Wall Street Journal reported.

More than 100 planes have been idle at Dubai airports since the start of the war, according to the publication.

Satellite imagery taken by Earth survey company Planet Labs also shows a cluster of private jets from mid-February to early April, reports The Journal.

According to Flightradar24, four private jets were seen flying from Moscow to Dubai in March. Unlike Western destinations, Dubai has not banned Russian flights.

As these planes fly to Dubai to avoid sanctions, they end up stuck there as the plane's Russian owners can't fly them anywhere else, aviation lawyers and private jet brokers told The Journal.

A lot of Russian-linked planes have moved to the UAE because you can fly in the airspace there, Steve Varsano, CEO of a London-based private jet brokerage, told the publication.

The US Department of Commerce recently imposed sanctions prohibiting the refueling, maintenance, or repair of aircraft linked to Russia. Major aviation companies, including Boeing and Airbus, have also stopped deliveries of spare parts to Russian airlines.
