Coronavirus pandemic restrictions on entry into Finland are being lifted 30 June, the country's Interior Ministry reported.

"This means that third-country travelers entering Finland will no longer be required to have a vaccination or covid-19 test certificate, nor will they be subject to corona testing at border crossings," the department said in a statement.

The decision comes after Finnish health authorities said there are no longer any health grounds for keeping the restrictions in place, the ministry added.

The Finnish Interior Ministry informs that border control is returning to a pre-pandemic situation. Passengers arriving from outside the EU and Schengen area must still carry normal travel documents, i.e., a passport and, if necessary, a visa.

The removal of restrictions is expected to increase traffic from third countries. The Interior Ministry noted that traffic volumes across the eastern border will still be affected by the desire of Russians to travel to Finland as well as the number of valid visas.
