YEREVAN. – Office of the Financial System Arbitrator of Armenia already received 160 written complaints so far in 2012, in the case when a total of 144 such complaints were received throughout 2011, financial arbitrator Piruz Sargsyan stated during a briefing with news reporters on Monday.

She said this increase is conditioned on the mandatory automobile insurance system.

“This is a new tool. There are new volumes, new clients. That is why the mandatory auto insurance complaints are numerous,” said Sargsyan.

As a result, the citizens complained more about insurance companies in 2012, whereas the majority of last year’s complaints were on commercial banks.

Piruz Sargsyan also informed that close to 71.8 percent of the complaints is resolved in favor of the client and most of them are settlement cases.
