YEREVAN. – Armenia’s National Self-Determination Union (NSU) Chairman Paruyr Hayrikyan considers himself to be the best option for the political opposition’s single candidate in the 2013 presidential elections. Hayrikyan himself stated this during a press conference on Friday.
By analyzing the opposition parties’ statements, he said he came to the conclusion that he is the best and the most appropriate single presidential candidate from amongst them.
“I have an experience in joining, in yielding, but my decisions were always connected with the programs. If they present better programs than mine, I will consult. Solely the programs can be the uniting [factor],” he said.
“Hayrikyan is speaking about the President’s office for only two-three years, so I may build in two years and leave thereafter. When I become President, I will abolish that office, and the people will elect the PM,” the NSU Chairman noted.
In addition, after becoming President, Paruyr Hayrikyan will propose having a single orthography.
