YEREVAN. – Both dance and sport professionals in Armenia are against the poll-dance to be included in the Olympic Games, while arguments are different. Kastanet sport-dance studio head Marianna Mamyan is against the poll-dance to be included in the Games in general. According to her, she does not accept striptease and believes it is beyond esthetics and cannot be counted for culture.

Yerevan dance studio head Arthur Zakaryan is also against it, claiming it is already funny when the poll-dance championships are held. According to him, the sport dances, which are considered to be royal sport, have been waiting for already 25 years to be included in the Games. Besides, even chess is not included, let alone the poll-dance, he added.

Artistic gymnastics trainer Gayane Nersisyan is against it as well, as it has no connection to sport.

Earlier Armenian News-NEWS.am had touched upon the pole dance, whether it is a sport or a dance.
