YEREVAN. – A capital city Yerevan precinct of Armenia’s Police received information Thursday that the driver of a Nissan had run over an unidentified person, nearby a restaurant complex, who had died on the spot. 

The driver had left the vehicle at the scene of the incident and escaped.

Subsequently, a taxi driver by the name of Artur Arakelyan, 38, arrived at a police precinct on the same day, at around 4:40pm, and informed that he is the one who had run over the person, Police press service informs.  

The victim’s identity is determined, too. He was 84-year-old Alexander Hovsepyan.

An investigation is underway.
