YEREVAN. – Environmental situation is very poor in Yerevan city and it is not a secret to anybody, the environmentalist Karine Danielyan said at a press conference on Saturday.

According to her, the results of the researches conducted in 2006-2007 are not promising for the environmental situation. Recent studies found that the capital city has lost 70 percent of its green areas during the last 20 years.

In addition, an environmental commission was established, which is to register some results by coordinating its works with the city hall and Armenian Ministry of Nature Protection, as the capital city should not serve for a small group of people only.
