YEREVAN. – A total of 75,600 people were looking for jobs in Armenia in July of this year, as compared with 86,600 in July of the year past, Zhamanak daily reports.

“In line with data from the National Statistical Service, the number of job seekers in the country has dropped all through this year. A total of 64,400 unemployed were officially registered in July 2012, as compared with 68,500 of January.

Also, the labor demand in our country has increased as compared with the beginning of this year. A total of 2,272 workers were required in July against 1,293 in January.

To note, the negative balance of international passenger flow—[that is,] the number of those who left the country has surpassed those who arrived in the country in January-July 2012—has increased by 5,100, or by 6.5 percent, as compared with the same time period last year, and constituted 83,800 people.

Apparently, the reduction in the number of unemployed and job seekers [in Armenia] is explained by this emigration,” Zhamanak writes.
