YEREVAN. – As of Friday 9am, Armenian capital city Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport has again suspended its services rendered to Armavia Airline Company—which is Armenia’s national carrier—, and due to its outstanding debt to the airport, the latter’s press secretary Gevorg Abrahamyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.  

The current debt is $3,215,000. “Yesterday [Thursday] Armavia promised to reduce the debt all the way to $3 million, but it has not fulfilled its promise until now,” Abrahamyan noted. 

He added that, according to the company’s promises, its outstanding debt is expected to reduce to $2,360,000—that is, the maximum limit allowed by the working contract—next week. “Now, the service to the flights is suspended until Armavia fulfills its promise,” Gevorg Abrahamyan said.    

To the query as to whether complaints are being filed by the passengers of the canceled flights, he responded by saying that there are complaints, but this matter concerns the airline company.
