OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairman Matthew Bryza told radio Liberty Azerbaijani office that “sooner or later Karabakh will join the negotiation process.”

Bryza stated that several years ago Karabakh participated in the talks till Yerevan undertook the authority of representing NKR in the talks. A “mutual agreement” has to be reached to re-involve Karabakh in the negotiation process."

“We hope that agreement will be concluded and some day Karabakh will join the talks as an equal negotiator. Actually indirectly it is already involved in negotiations. We are open to any opinions and certainly have to take into account NKR’s opinion in negotiations too. Otherwise, it will be impossible to make the conflict resolution acceptable to those directly influenced,” Co-chairman said.

Bryza also stated that once a peaceful agreement is signed, 5 regions – Fizuli, Aghdam, Jabrayil, Zangelan and Kubatlu will be returned to Azerbaijan immediately, while Lachin and Kelbajar in 5 years.

Matthew Bryza also spoke about OSCE MG Co-chairmen impending meeting in Krakow."On July 10 in Italian L’Aquila the US, French and Russian Presidents issued a joint statement, ordering the OSCE MG Co-chairs to develop revised Madrid principles draft. That is the purpose of our meeting in Polish Krakow," Bryza concluded.
