YEREVAN. – During the nine months of 2013 trade turnover between Armenia and Russia reaches $1 billion, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said.

He emphasized that Russia is number one trade partner of Armenia.

“The trade turnover between our countries amounted to 1 billion 300 million dollars in 2012, which means a 20% increase compared with 2011. During the first nine months of this year we reached one billion, while growth on the part of Armenia’s exports amounted to 24%,” President Sargsyan said.

Although Armenia is not a Customs Union member yet, the countries have agreed on a number of important bilateral mechanisms of privileges that are applied in the relations between the Customs Union member states.

“I especially want to thank for this the President of Russia. This is a move of a true partner and friend,” Sargsyan noted.
