An-225 got a certificate of Giunness World Records for carrying the ultra-heavy and oversize cargo in the history. On August 12, 2009 An-225 cargo aircraft delivered 190-ton generator from Khan, Germany for Yerevan Thermal Power Plant (TPP).

An-225 Mriya has a load capacity of 250 tons, its maximum cargo record is 247 ton. The aircraft had to arrive on August 2, 2009, but the flight was cancelled. The generator was delivered within the framework of Yerevan Thermal Power Plant (TPP) program under Japanese Government credit.
