Turkish President Abdullah Gul intends to visit Azerbaijan to take part in the summit meeting of Turkish-speaking countries, Huseyin Avni Karslioglu, head of the Turkish President Protocol Department August 31 informed Trend News.
The leaders of Turkish-speaking countries first met in 1992 on Turkey’s initiative to unite all Turkish-speaking nations and establish Turkic united geopolitical area.
Overall, there are six Turkish-speaking countries in the world: Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
