YEREVAN. – The Peacekeeping Brigade of the Armenia Armed Forces has female soldiers, too.

The brigade commander, Major General Artur Simonyan, informed about the aforesaid to the military attachés from the US, German, French, and UK embassies that visited the brigade, on Tuesday.

In his words, however, even though women also serve in this brigade, they cannot participate in peacekeeping missions.

“A government decision is needed for that,” explained Simonyan. “But it is nonexistent.”

He also noted that the recruitment for this brigade is still in progress, and it is currently complemented by more than half.

Thanking the partner countries for their cooperation, Major General Simonyan stated that Armenian military servicemen also receive training in the US, Germany, and UK.

“I would like to mention that three of our officers have the completed the [British] royal military training,” he added.
