YEREVAN. - The high interest rates impede the foreign investors in Armenia.

ARF Dashnaktsutyun MP Karen Shahmuradyan said the aforementioned in the National Assembly (NA) Tuesday.

In his words, the meetings with foreign entrepreneurs can reveal what worries them most in the investment climate of the republic. State tenders and their victories should be transparent and clear. The interest on loan offered by the banking system is too high. Thus, they are used only when absolutely necessary.“Another issue is the red tape, especially in the customs. Purchasing power of the local market is added to all this. Due to this, the population can’t but prefer cheap and low quality goods.

It is necessary to see what difficulties the business faces and the ways for their solution. We must hand the potential investors the lists of companies from their countries, which already work here. Then they will be able to establish contacts with their compatriots and share with their experience of work in our country,” Shahmuradyan noted.
