YEREVAN. - Russian Pobeda airlines haven’t received any special privileges from Armenia and work on their own.

Head of the General Department of Civil Aviation (GDCA) by the Government of the Republic of Armenia, Sergey Avetisyan, told the aforementioned to reporters on Tuesday.

According to him, the cost of the tickets doesn’t include duty for crossing the airspace of Armenia (the so called “departure tax”). But this doesn’t concern Pobeda in particular, but Shirak airport of Gyumri.

“Any other airline, which will make flights here, will receive such tax exemption,” Avetisyan stressed.

Earlier, Shirak airport was exempted from a duty in order to attract airlines, specifically low-cost ones.  On December 15, Pobeda (subsidiary of Aeroflot) launched its first flight form Moscow to Gyumri and back.
