YEREVAN. – Dried fruit production will be cheaper in Armenia, if it is done in a centralized manner.

“Association of Dried Food Producers” NGO Director Sandro Abovyan told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“The [fruit] farms [in Armenia] are small; for that reason, the cost price is high. To reduce it, it [i.e. dried fruits] needs to be reprocessed by tools, not by hand,” added Abovyan. “But we virtually don’t have such volume of production; for that reason, general production is needed, which at first will be necessary for business. The product will be cheap, and this means that exports can be [conducted] more and easier.”
