YEREVAN. – The year 2016 was distinguished by the unprecedented escalation of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict ever since the trilateral ceasefire that was established in 1994, and by the military actions which Azerbaijan unleashed against Nagorno-Karabakh in April.

Head of the Department of Defense Policy at the Ministry of Defense (MOD) of Armenia, Levon Ayvazyan, noted the aforesaid at Friday’s year-end meeting—at the MOD—with the association of the military attachés that are accredited in the country.

At the event, Ayvazyan presented the activities which the Armenian ministry carried in the year past, and within the framework of defense policy, the MOD informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In addition, it was reaffirmed that the ministry will continue implementing the defense reforms and fulfilling its international obligations.

At the end of the talk, the Armenian MOD official responded to the questions by the representatives of the above-said association.
