YEREVAN. - The international community should bring to senses the Azerbaijani leadership, which has lost the sense of reality.
Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian stated the aforementioned at a press-conference on Tuesday.
Referring to the diversionary infiltration attempt initiated by the Azerbaijani side on December 29, the FM noted that there might be three possible explanations for the happening. In his words, this was either the order of the Azerbaijani leadership or the initiative of local commanders. That might also be the work of crazy infiltrators. “All these versions are bad. The first version doesn’t need to be commented on, although it is beyond doubt that the Azerbaijani leadership can give such an order, since it is exactly Baku who refuses to enhance the ceasefire regime. If the second version is true, then mess prevails in the Azerbaijani army. The commanders may spit on the leaders and take steps with unpredictable consequences. The third version proves that the Azerbaijani society is being zombified,” the FM noted.
Touching on the accusation of the Azerbaijani side on that the body of the killed diversionary hasn’t yet been handed over to his homeland, Nalbandian stressed that Armenia has never violated its obligations in respect of returning bodies. “Look who’s talking on the violation of humanitarian law! The most flagrant example of Azerbaijan’s actions was when they didn’t allow us to come up to the downed helicopter and find out whether there were living people there. Or the ISIS method of doing away with people. Or heroizing criminals,” he added.
Nalbandian also recalled that Armenia has to conduct investigation on its own, which could have been done jointly given the existence of the incident investigation mechanisms.
