YEREVAN. - Armenia will expand the opportunity for the servicemen’s parents to get assistance. 

Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia, Artem Asatryan, said the aforementioned on Monday, introducing the draft amendments to the Law “On social security of servicemen and their families.”

Under the current legislation, in the event of the death of a serviceman, the members of his or her family shall get a lump-sum monetary assistance. Parents who lived with them are also considered as family members. However, now the parents will be able to get assistance if their deceased son or daughter lived separately from them in a military service apartment.
