YEREVAN. - If the citizens of Armenia get used to piling up money, the loans will become more available to them.

Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), Nerses Yeristyan, stated the aforementioned in the parliament on Tuesday, speaking at the discussion of the bill of the new Law “On apartment mortgage lending.”

In this case, the banks will not have to require advance payment for loan. Instead of this, in developed countries the banks require to provide them exactly with proof of savings, for instance for the last year. “This gives them confidence that the borrower has already got used to saving up money and will not have to get used to loan repayment. If the banks see that there is a habit of accumulation, they will lower the assessment of clients’ insolvency. And the less the risks are, the more the loan interests will be,” Yeritsyan said.
