YEREVAN. - Yerevan-Artashat-Ashtarak highway will partly open in May, its complete opening being planned for September.  

Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies, Vahan Martirosyan, stated the aforementioned in the parliament on Wednesday, responding to the question of Orinats Yerkir MP Ishkhan Khachatryan.

In his words, the main road will be ready in May, whereas the high-flying highway will be put into commission in September.

The first section of North-South highway (from Yerevan to south, Artsashat and north, Ashtarak) was solemnly opened back in December 2015. It was earlier stated that the entire road (from the Iranian to Georgian border of Armenia) would be opened in 2019.
