YEREVAN. - The flow of tourists to Armenia grew by 5.7 percent in 2016.

Chair of the State Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments, Zarmine Zeytuntsyan, stated the aforementioned to journalists on Friday.

In her words, 2 million 867,000 people visited Armenia in 2016, of which 1 million 260,000 arrived for touristic purposes. Growth of tourists was also recorded in Russia and Iran, as well as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and China. About 30 percent of the visits were made to neighboring Iran.
