Pentagon alerted the Russian Defense Ministry an hour before attacking the Syrian air base, reports CNN, referring to senior American military.

According to the source, the American side contacted their Russian colleagues several times. CNN reports, that shortly after the missile attack, the Pentagon had taken measures aimed at strengthening the security of several hundred American soldiers in Syria.
