Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Georgia, Ambassador János Herman, is concerned about Azerbaijani opposition journalist Afgan Mukhtarli’s kidnapping in Georgia’s capital city of Tbilisi.
Herman said they were concerned about what happened, they closely watch the process, and believe that the respective investigation will be carried to the end, reported contact.az news agency of Azerbaijan.
But Tina Khidasheli, former Minister of Defense of Georgia, stated that the Georgian government’s statements regarding the “Mukhtarli case” are not convincing.
“It’s impossible to kidnap a person in the territory of a country that presents claims to democracy, and then to transfer him to a country from which he fled because of political threat,” Khidasheli noted, in particular.
